“Dundie” Awards Series | Lynchburg Wedding Photographer

We wished this year away didn’t we??? I can’t believe it’s already the end of December and we are about to start a new year. Last year about this time I shared one of my top trending blog posts:

The Dundie Awards

Since it was a crowd favorite I knew this had to be a yearly thing. I know this year was wild for the wedding industry but I still wanted to honor my couple’s and all their hard work to plan their weddings & elopements.

I have been discussing the top contenders for each award with my secret panel of judges (yes my mom is one of those judges haha). And added some categories that fit the year… but before I share those awards. If there are any new followers and you’re wondering what the heck a Dundie Award is, let me explain.

Ya’ll know my love and obsession with The Office has been a part of my business in a few ways. For example, my “Nice To Meet Me Monday” series is inspired by a quote from Date Mike! I also quote Kevin in my bio!! So it’s only fitting that my very own superlatives series represent my favorite show of all time!

Maybe one day I can host an event with my couples at a Chili’s and hand out actual awards??
DM me on Instagram if you’re down for this and would want come?!

Creating posts like this brings me so much joy! This year especially, ALL of my couples deserve awards because it was by far the toughest year to plan a wedding.

These images remind me of all the sweet, fun, and unique wedding days we had the honor of being a part of. And honestly, my couples are the only reason I will look back on this year and remember the best days!

I am so thankful for these new friendships and can’t wait to see where life takes us this next year! Its crazy to me that this year is already over but I am so excited and grateful for all my 2020 couples!

So now its time to reveal the 2020 EHP

Dundie Award Winners

COVID prevented Elena’s best friends from traveling but that didn’t stop them from being a part of her day! One of her friends was in Alaska on her lunch break and stopped to hop on this Facetime call for Elena. The girls stayed on and did their makeup with Elena as she got ready for the day. Maybe one day I can meet these sweet friends of hers but I had fun getting to know them by this call.

Garrett & Kala

Don’t even get me started on this first look. I’m surprised my photos aren’t more crooked because these two had me crying during their first look! The nerves and anticipation in this first shot of Garrett are such a good representation of what most grooms feel on the inside on wedding days. Grooms don’t always share their emotions but when he sees Kala and starts to fall with emotion… gosh it just gives me chills. I live for moments like this for my couples! Despite all that happened, this wedding is one my favorites from this year. And I can honestly say not many 2020 brides could walk in Elena’s shoes and be as calm and loving as she is!

Make sure to check out this wedding day here on my blog and the intimate elopement at SML on Hannah’s website!!

James and I are so grateful for you and I know that if you guys can overcome this year together that you can face any challenge that comes your way. We love you guys and can’t wait to see where life takes you in the years to come!
