Nice To Meet Me Monday Series | Lynchburg Wedding Photographer

If you have seen my social media at all in the last year you will probably already know about my “Nice To Meet Me Monday” posts but I will explain it real quick. I want to make sure to share photos of me because I am the “face” of this business! So instead of doing the typical Friday Introductions that most photographers do I switched it up and chose Monday!

It also gives a shout out to one of my favorite shows The Office. Any one else seen Date Mike? If you haven’t, check out the classic Michael Scott on a date in Season 6 Episode 21. This line in the show along with the wink gets me every time!

So on the first Monday of every month I will be sharing a fun post about James and I or something personal with you guys! My hope is that you learn more about us this way and maybe find something that we have in common. I have so much fun with this too and have so many blog posts planned out till next year!! I am a bit of an overachiever but I am loving this year so far and have too much not to share! So today I picked some random questions to answer and may do another one of these in the future if you like it?

My red toned highlights coming through strong, thanks Michelle!

My red toned highlights coming through strong, thanks Michelle!

  1. If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?

I would probably do things I love and miss doing during my busy season. Things like catch up on my reading, bake the top 5 desserts I have on my Em’s Bakery Board on Pinterest, and last but not least, browse Pinterest for fun crafts, home decor ideas, trip ideas, and photography inspiration!

  2. What hobby would you get into if time and money weren’t an issue?

I have always wanted to follow in both my grandma’s footsteps and learn to sew and crochet. They have given me such special gifts for my home and future kids that they made. I think that is such a cool skill to have and wish I had more time to learn!

  3. What fictional place would you most like to go to?
This may make me sound like a millennial but I would most definitely choose Hogwarts. I actually Honeymooned at Hogwarts with James! We were just kids and had the time of our lives in Orlando!!

  4. If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning the gold medal for?

James will probably agree but I would probably say “Rearranging Your House”. I spring clean my house realistically 8 times a year. I wish I were joking. Before I got into photography I cleaned at Liberty University and learned quite a bit about cleaning so I over do cleaning sometimes…

  5. What are two of your favorite rooms in your house?
Without a doubt my newly renovated (still in the process actually) Kitchen is my favorite. I love my island, my newly installed dish washer, and of course my shiplap walls! The next one would be our living room upstairs that we call “The Chat Room”. This room is the first room our guests see in the house and its where the classic southern goodbye happens with every guest (If you don’t know what the southern goodbye is make sure you google it!).

  6. What are some small things that make your day better?

Sweet unexpected notes from James, my signs with quotes throughout the house, my mini succulents, and bath and body works (or white barn) candles lit in my office or chat room.

  7. Who is your go to band or artist when you can’t decide on something to listen to?

I listen to pretty much everything. That makes receptions really fun for me but also really difficult if my music gets old. However, no matter what, Coldplay never gets old!! So I would say Coldplay is my go to band!

  8. How often do you people watch and where are you when you people watch?

So this is kind of embarrassing but I am going to answer honestly!! The place that came to my mind was the beach! Mom and I will be wearing our shades in our cute beach chairs and watch the interesting people on the beach. I hope we aren’t the only ones that do this?! Its a fun memory I have with my momma even if it is weird! haha

  9. What’s the farthest you’ve ever traveled from home?

I can hear James roll his jealous eyes but I have been Europe!! My sweet parents gave me an amazing gift of sending me across seas to expand my horizons and see the world!! We started out in London which intensified my love for all things British. Second stop was Paris and it really is everything you’ve dreamed of. The pastries and scenery is just exquisite. The last stop was Rome. I saw beautiful historic properties and fell in love with this city. The authentic gelato definitely swayed me to love this country. It was an incredible trip and I can’t wait to go back!

  10. What is something that a ton of people are obsessed with but you just don’t get the point of?

I would have to say that I don’t quite understand the show “The Bachelor”. I know that most girls love the show. I really did give it a try but I found my mind wandering and at the end of the episode I didn’t remember a single thing. So I did try it! I just had no interest in it… Give me all the Fixer Upper!

  1. If you could have a video of any one event in your life what event would you choose?
This is such a short answer for this EPIC story of my life… I’d have to say when I was attacked by a bat. Yes. A BAT. Oh man. That moment in my life is one for the memory bank for sure. If you want to hear more about this tell me in the comments!! I may do a post just on this awful experience?? Haha!

  2. What keeps you up at night?

I would have to say my never ending to do list. I am a big list maker and focus on getting things done (sometimes losing sleep making sure I didn’t forget anything). I use the free version of Trello and my phone calendar to keep my LIFE organized. I even use it for grocery lists! Its so helpful because James is linked to it as well and no matter where we are we can be on the same page with clients and life!

  3. What kind of job did you want as a kid?

I always thought I would end up in the science field of work. I absolutely LOVED biology. For the longest time I wanted to be a Veterinarian. I also considered accounting and teaching middle or high school math and science. I still enjoy math and sciences but I know my calling now and so glad those “life callings” didn’t work out!

  4. What are your top five favorite musicals?

    Alright here we go:

    1. Greatest Showman

    2. Sound of Music

    3. Phantom of the Opera

    4. Beauty and the Beast

    5. Les Miserables

  5. What is your favorite hobby to do alone?

I love doing puzzles with some soft music playing. I know that makes me sound like a 90 year old woman but I LOVE working puzzles.

  6. What is something you can’t go a day without doing?

I have had to check myself before I wreck myself but… check my Instagram! I have tried to cut back my social media browsing. I could easily use up an entire evening just scrolling. I hope I’m not the only one?? I have tried to be more intentional with my free time because I did get consumed with checking my stories quite a lot.

  7. What is one do your favorite quotes?

“There is no limit to the amount of good you can do if you don’t care who gets the credit”

    – Former President Ronald Reagan

  8. If you could be a Disney Princess who would you be and why?
I identify with Belle the most so probably her!! Who wouldn’t want to live in a beautiful castle with a giant library and beautiful garden??

  9. If you could get on a plane right now and fly anywhere, where would you go?

Probably back to Waco, Texas! I loved my visit last May and would go back in a heartbeat!! I got to high five Chip Gaines ya’ll! I also ran the 5k with Johanna’s family and could have met Jimmy Don during my race (there is definitely more to that story). I will share that trip with you in a future post for sure!

  10. The last one I had to make wedding related because it’s what I do:

If you could redo your wedding what would you do differently?

I wouldn’t change anything really but if I could go back I would probably of hired a videographer. Video is so popular with our EHP Couples and I really love seeing their wedding day through the video sneak peeks online! We work with talented vendors in Lynchburg and I wish I could have had Dele or Logan at our wedding!

You made it through that huge blog post! Thanks so much for reading and getting to know me a bit more. Tell me what we have in common and pick your favorite question to answer in the comments!

I can’t wait to read your answers!! 🙂

Until Next Time,

Emily
