A Winter Roanoke Bridal Session | Roanoke, Virginia Wedding Photographer
I absolutely adore bridal portraits! There is such a rush usually on the wedding day and some times there isn’t time to fit in a mini bridal portrait session. I always get one or two shots of just my EHP bride on the wedding day but bridal portraits are the best way to have several bridal portraits to pick from!
Michelle, with Coiffeur Collective, and I traveled to Roanoke, Virginia for these winter bridal portraits. Michelle has always been my go to for the best hair styles for all my clients and styled shoots! Michelle and her team continue to blow me away with their talents! It’s no wonder they won the GOLD for Lynchburg Living’s Best Bridal Hair!!
So we drove down to Abby’s house where we started taking photos with the beautiful wall of greenery! Abby told us this was one of her favorite spots to take photos for the gram so we definitely wanted to stop there for photos!
During winter it can be a bit difficult to find some color in nature. All the scenery usually looks either dead, cold, colorless, or just bare. If you are a winter bride and want the pops of color in your images make sure you pick a bright and bold bouquet!! This gives your images a colorful pop when the rest of nature is still asleep. However, for bridal portraits there isn’t always a bouquet to hold. So we use the veil and dress to create variety in your images! Abby was a pro at mixing up her posing with holding and touching her veil and dress!
I’m sure you cannot tell by the these bridal portrait photos but it was below 50° for this session!! I can’t remember exactly how cold it was but for Abby to be wearing a stunning lace dress with no sleeves is just amazing to me! I cannot tell you how proud I was of her to stand out in the cold for as long as she did. She was dedicated and determined the whole time for these and I could not be more grateful. We actually took small breaks and let her warm up a bit in her jacket and that helped some.
She knew exactly how to pose and we rolled right through these portraits so that we could get warm! I think it was well worth it to brave the cold because these bridal portraits are STUNNING!! Enjoy a few of my favorites from this winter bridal portrait session in Roanoke Virginia!
