Rustic Fall Vintage Wedding at Cana Barn | Staunton Wedding Photographer
10/10/20 has finally arrived!! This is by far the most requested date of 2020 and I have to say that Amanda was really smart and booked all of her vendors really early on!! However, when the pandemic started and flipped the entire wedding world upside down many vendors struggled to stay afloat. It was a hard time for James and I as well but by the grace of God we are almost completely book for 2021 and already booking for 2022!! We are definitely counting our blessings!!
Anyways, so as we began to plan their engagement session in Downtown Staunton, Virginia, Amanda very casually says “Oh I just found out our venue just canceled our wedding so we need a new venue”….On the BUSIEST day of the year for EVERY wedding venue/vendor.
My first thought was HOW IS SHE SO CALM AND COLLECTED?!
I was freaking out more than she was y’all!! I went into problem solving mode real quick!! The first person I turned to was my friend Chelsea of One Fine Day Events because I knew she could help!! Even though she was booked for another wedding that day she helped Amanda not only find a venue (who had a last minute cancelation), she also helped finalize all the details of the day. CHELSEA SAVED THE DAY!!!
So fast forward to the wedding day, it’s raining here in VA off and on all day. ALL DAY. And does this break Amanda and David?? Nope! Seriously after all that has happened this year and seeing all that David and Amanda have overcome I am amazed at their kindness and joyful outlook on life.
I know every bride envisions their day to be absolutely beautiful and perfect, maybe even since they were little!! I truly feel that David & Amanda’s day was everything it was supposed to be despite the pandemic, canceling vendors, rain, etc. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Amanda throughout this crazy year and I cannot wait to share my favorite moments from their rustic fall vintage wedding at Cana Barn!

Venue: As a wedding photographer, I research venues if I have never photographed there. When I first looked up Cana Barn I was immediately smitten with the history and story behind this wedding venue! The owners are so sweet, hard working, and welcoming!! Even through COVID-19 they still prioritized their clients and vendors which I have to admit is rare these days!!
The bridal suite also has AMAZING light to photograph all the bridal details and I absolutely loved the rain plan for this venue! I almost forgot to mention their handsome boy, Summit, who will steal your heart if you don’t watch out!! If you are looking for a modern rustic style venue for your wedding day I highly recommend Cana Barn!!
Planner:: Chelsea has saved the day again! When my couple’s wedding venue CANCELED the wedding suddenly Chelsea was able to find a replacement venue on the busiest day of the year (10/10/20) in record time! She had another wedding to attend that day but she still helped my couple put together a game plan for the day and finalize the details with Amanda. I don’t know what would have happened for David & Amanda if it were not for Chelsea’s hard work!!
