Mountain View Wedding at On the Glen | Roanoke Wedding Photographer
Annnnnnnd we are back at our old stomping grounds!! We always love coming back to this venue and this time was exctra special for a few reasons.
1) It was out first wedding back that WASN’T raining and let me tell you it was a beautiful day!!!
2) These two are so near and dear to my heart!
I have known Denton since basically he was born! He might as well be my little brother! So when they reached out wanting me to photograph their wedding day I was over the moon excited!! Leading up to this day was quite the journey too. These two were suppose to have their big wedding this past April but due to the lovely COVID restrictions we pushed their day back to August.
Despite all that happened in the world these two decided to get married last April anyways! They shared the sweetest intimate ceremony with just their families and one of her bridesmaids, Hannah ( another local photographer), captured those moments for them! Check out those photos on Hannah’s site!
James and I enjoyed this wedding day so much and we really don’t take for granted the party that is the reception! We missed the crazy dancers!! Being a part of our couple’s story in this way is why I love what we do. We invest in our couples so much before the wedding day so that we know things that only their friends would know! For example, Lucy wasn’t just an ordinary flower girl. She has been a part of Mackenzie’s life for the past several years. So knowing how much she loved Lucy I made sure to grab a few extra shots of her and Lucy that day!! 🙂
In addition to knowing basically the entire bridal party, I was so excited to see Hannah, a local photographer, and two of my very own Emily Hancock brides!! It was so cool to be able to see and work with them before their wedding days. In a way, they just got a sneak peek into their future experience with us! We love working with bridesmaids from past weddings because it feels like a mini reunion with all of our brides on wedding days like this!!
This also gave them the perfect example of how a first look can change a wedding day! Denton and Mackenzie chose to share a first look and I wish that their photos could speak because the only thing Denton could say when he saw his bride was “WOW”
I cannot wait for you to see their first look and one of my favorite veil shots that I have ever taken! Mackenzie had the perfect veil to make the shot absolute perfection. Did I mention she’s also gorgeous?! These two had such a beautiful day and I cannot wait till we are back at our favorite venue in Roanoke, on the Glen at Glenburn Farms!
PS: You don’t want to miss the behind the scenes shots of Denton picking out the bugs in her dress or their beautiful golden hour photos!!
