A Summer Mountain Ridge Venue Wedding | Lynchburg Wedding Photographer
This past Friday we shared such sweet memories with Kala & Garrett. Kala feels like family to me since she’s my sister’s best friend so to be able to capture their wedding day was extra special for James and I! So many tears and laughs were shared at this wedding and it will for sure be one of our favorite wedding days in our 2020 season!
The brides’ sister had me crying at the rehearsal dinner because she MADE me the sweetest wood engraved sign with my logo on it!! I had just mentioned last week that I needed to fill some wall space in my office area and oh my word is it absolutely perfect for that spot!! Kala and Garrett were so sweet to display it next to their canvas print of their engagement photo at their guest book table too! I really do have the best couples!!
Another reason this wedding day will hold such sweet memories is that they shared 3 first looks!!! That’s right, THREE FIRST LOOKS!! The first one was with the groom and the father of the bride only it wasn’t what you think… Everyone was in on a little secret! Garrett was going to wear Kala’s mother’s wedding dress from 27 years ago! Just wait till you see her dad’s reaction!! Once this first look was done, Kala shared the real first look with her dad and they were able to share the sweetest moment together!
The last first look of the day was the bride & groom! Kala and Garrett wanted to share a few intimate moments on their wedding day together. The emotions and pure joy they shared is giving me chills all over again as I write this but guys… I have never experienced a sweeter first look reaction than Garrett. This is truly the reason why I LOVE first looks! The moment Garrett saw his beautiful wife to be he just lost it… Like knees buckling, tears streaming, jaw dropping in awe lost it. I have not cried like that during a first look since probably my own first look with James over 5 years ago!! I just adore my couples so much and the longer we have been doing this the more emotional I get!!
I might just have to share this moment in a blog about first looks soon because man it’s just everything a first look is for and what every bride dreams of! I know it’s not traditional and you may be thinking but won’t it ruin the affect of the isle during the ceremony??? It really doesn’t!! You’ll actually see that Garrett still had sweet emotions seeing Kala walk down the isle!!
Their sweet intimate moments of prayer and time together before the ceremony is definitely one of my favorite moments with these two on their wedding day. I can’t wait to share their portraits and these first look moments with you, so enjoy reliving their summer wedding at Mountain Ridge Venue!
