Intimate Spring Virginia Wedding | Lynchburg Wedding Photographer
This was our first wedding to start of our busy season up until December! I could not picture a better wedding day to kick off our spring and summer weddings. Katie and I met through Michelle, at Coiffeur Collective, and I knew instantly that we would be friends. The first time we met to go over wedding details I was introduced to her sweet grandmother and daughter, Chloe. So when I saw these two ladies again on the wedding day it felt like seeing old friends! I loved how welcoming their families were to James and I. After being with these families throughout the day we really do feel like one of the gang!
The ladies got ready at this beautiful plantation rental home that had so much character! I love older homes for this reason and of course included some of the old character in her bridal details. Her ceremony was at her mom’s mom which made the perfect scene for this wedding. There was a beautifully decorated Arbor and reception tent on one side of the property and on the other side they made a stunning waterfall! Katie and Jonathan even climbed on the rocks to get some beautiful photos with her parent’s hard work! I loved having access to the families’ home so that after our bridal party photos we could cool off indoors and stay close to the ceremony location. It came in handy to be close to everything so we didn’t miss a moment!
There was a special moment between Katie and her daughter Chloe right before the ceremony. They went into the getting ready space and sat down together and had the SWEETEST moment! I felt like a creeper in the closet (where I took the photo) but Jessica, her matron of honor, let me know so I could snag a few photos of them. I definitely included it below because it gives me all the feels.!! I don’t have children yet but I can only imagine how special it would be to include your daughter on such an important day in your life!
During the reception, Katie and Jonathan planned a surprise anniversary dance to honor her grandparents (the same grandma I met last year). James and I always love it when our couples have an anniversary dance because we love to see all the couples in love! I think it is so amazing to see happily married couples that have been together over 40, 50, even 60 years! Talk about marriage goals! At the end of the reception, Jonathan and Katie shared a surprise dance with their daughters! Their little girls were the most precious flower girls and had so much fun dancing. You could tell that this wedding day was more than just joining Jonathan and Katie. It brought their sweet little family together and for James and I to be a part of something that special is truly an honor!!
