We have been looking so forward to this wedding day at Alturia Farm for many reasons. One, we have had our eye on this venue for awhile because of the beautiful backdrops I’ve seen friends of mine use for their work. I wanted a chance to get creative at this new to me venue.

And even more importantly, we couldn’t wait to see Adam & Kala again! If you’ve been following me for any amount of time I might sound like a broken record but it makes all the difference in the world when we are friends with our couples and get to know them on a more personal level!

The way we invest time in planning before the wedding day is really catered to each couple and their families. We do this because we can capture moments that truly matter like Kala & her mom’s private moment exchanging gifts! Kala’s grandmother passed away a long while ago but her mom had a special necklace designed using her grandma’s diamond. So while we don’t usually spend as much time on the wedding day exchanging gifts like this for photos, I knew this would mean a lot to Kala so we made it happen!

Another one of my favorite moments from this day was Kala & her dad’s first look. Her dad had the SWEETEST reaction seeing Kala in her dress. She even got him custom cuff links! They actually had lots of custom touches in their decor like their guest book sign, signs around the venue, wooden engraved coasters, and an engraved rock.

Now that last thing may sound weird at first haha! But do you know about the old tradition of Burying the Bourbon? You can read about it HERE but not many couples do this anymore. Why I’m not sure but Alturia Farm does this with every couple who get married there and it was so cool to be a part of that tradition for the first time ever!!
