An Atkinson Farms Spring Wedding

This wedding had so many checks for my Wedding Day Bucket List (yes I have one of those)!! I cannot wait to share with you guys this beautiful Atkinson Farms Wedding! Danielle and I clicked immediately when we first started planning their wedding experience. She was all about the details and had such amazing ideas for their big day!
First of all the venue she chose is now one of my top 5 favorite venues near home (it’s right at an hour away from Lynchburg). Let me tell you there are so many picturesque spots on this huge property! We had a hard time picking out the first look spot but decided on a location that was both close and you could see most of the property. I was so excited they wanted to share a first look and they even wrote each other notes. I love it when my couples share first looks and this one definitely has all the feels! Kevin is the sweetest groom and you can just tell he loves Danielle when he started to tear up. How could he not cry when his beautiful bride was wearing a stunning gown!!
Danielle’s dress was a dream to photograph and I loved having her twirl for a few shots! Everyone that saw her sneak peek images just lit up when they saw her twirling photo. Her bridal party was a huge help to me as we changed up the timeline last minute to make sure guests arriving early didn’t see our bride! Wedding days only come together if the vendors and bridal party work together so Danielle really knows how to pick her girls and the best vendors!! Even the little kiddos were well behaved! There were TEN of them too which probably sounds terrifying to some brides but these kiddos were the CUTEST and so sweet. Just wait till you see them walking down the isle, those photos are some of my favorites!! It makes me want my own littles soon (this is not a pregnancy announcement haha). 🙂
Im so grateful for the friendships made and extra fun we had at their wedding! I say extra fun because they decided to have a controlled exit so they could party and dance the night away! James, my assistant Carleigh, and I loved the LIVE BAND so much we wanted to stay and party with them after the exit. I cannot tell you how much fun the live band was and they played a great variety of songs. If you’re looking for a live band for your wedding day definitely check out JB and the Get Down Browns!!
We encourage our couples to have a controlled exit so that the meaningful photos are taken before people start to leave the reception. This also can save your wedding hair (full of hairspray) from catching on fire from the sparklers when the “crazy uncle” gets carried away with the signature drinks. You can’t laugh but I’ve seen some close calls! I’m so glad they did this “fake” exit because for the first time we had a LANTERN exit!! Lanterns are the kind of thing that I’ve seen on Pinterest but have never photographed so this was exciting!! And I can’t wait for the next wedding exit with lanterns. I’ve had Disney’s Tangled “ I See the Light” stuck in my head since the wedding! 🙂
