Downtown Ballroom Lynchburg Wedding at the Virginian | Lynchburg Virginia Wedding
I can’t believe I’m saying this but… this is the first wedding of our 2022 season to have sunshine and rain-free weather. How is that even possible?! The last wedding we photographed at The Virginian in downtown Lynchburg we had to navigate WILD weather (check that wedding out HERE). But fortunately Joe & Caroline were able to take advantage some pretty amazing weather, although it was pretty hot!!
They had so many special moments planned out for this day and I’ll admit I was so nervous to spoil their surprises throughout the day (literally almost spilled the beans 2x before the first dance… but I didn’t!). One of the bigger surprises was a special first dance. Joe’s twin brother & sister-in-law weren’t able to have the wedding they wanted because of the pandemic. So Joe & Caroline wanted to share the special first dance moment with them! The way they were so intentional to serve their families is so inspiring to my “acts of service” heart!
You don’t wanna miss those first dance photos as well as the mother of the groom dance. Joe was so sweet to also share the dance with his mom with his brother. When I say there wasn’t a dry eye in the reception I really mean it! But that wasn’t the only surprise that day! I’ve seen TikTok videos where the groom takes over for the photographer and takes photos of his bride… but I’ve never had an EH Groom actually ask to do this!! Joe felt inspired and asked if he could take a few of Caroline. And you already know I took some behind the scenes videos of him in action- Instagram Reel coming soon.
So make sure you see his work (only color corrected by me… he did the rest!). And honestly I’m pretty impressed by him learning how to use my camera on the fly to get these iconic portraits of his bride!! Caroline, you were glowing all day my friend, I don’t blame him for being inspired!!
To say I am so sad this season of life with these two is at an end is an understatement. They spoiled us with an EPIC engagement session at Liberty University’s Basketball Court (blog post coming soon!!). Joe even gave us a private tour of the locker rooms he helped design for his team! Seriously though, I am so blessed to call them friends and to see all that God has done in just my life alone because of their friendship.
James and I love taking pretty photos, partying on the dance floor, eating cake, and just being a part of our friends day! But the real joy behind what we do is serving couples, just like Joe and Caroline. Seeing how much they love each other with intentionality, grace, and purpose for their marriage is really what life is all about. We are so thankful to capture their elegant ballroom wedding at The Virginian Hotel so close to home in Lynchburg, Virginia. Enjoy a few of my favorites from their day!
