Summer Greenhouse Elopement | Lynchburg Wedding Photographer
This wedding helped me gain a new perspective for wedding days. Holland and Eli originally wanted to have a huge celebration with their friends and family at Boxtree Lodge in Vinton, Virginia. However, given the times they switched to sharing their special day elopement style with their closets family and friends. Their precious newborn, Elliot, and sweet little boy, Leo, were there as well and I could tell how it much it meant to Holland and Eli to share this day with their kiddos!
When Holland first reached out letting me know the plans were changing I was sad because I know that COVID was the reason for the change… But when I found out that she booked with Vaughan House Greenhouse I was SO EXCITED! If you have ever seen this greenhouse you know why I was looking forward to photographing this beautiful property!
I will admit though, this was our first elopement and I was so nervous!! I am not an elopement photographer per say but this new perspective really gave me a fresh look on weddings. In fact, this slow COVID season has really helped me change my perspective on many things in life and in my business! Holland and Eli didn’t know it but their wedding day at this beautiful greenhouse was exactly what I needed to get my creative juices flowing since Virginia is finally opening back up!
The 20% chance of rain ended up stopping by to celebrate with us but Eli and Holland had such carefree attitudes and I am so thankful they didn’t let the rain steal their joy! Vaughan House Greenhouse provided the perfect place for their ceremony even through the rain!! In fact, one of my favorites from their day was from the down pour of rain! The blooms and greenery added such a unique touch to their ceremony backdrop, it made my heart happy!! This was one reason for booking the greenhouse so that she didn’t have to worry about decorating the ceremony. She was right because while it was simple it was also a unique and beautiful backdrop!
You can tell this elopement and micro-wedding venue in Forest, Virginia is well cared for by the Vaughan family. I really encourage you to read why the Vaughan family built this greenhouse on their property. Their story still gives me chills and is such a beautiful representation of God’s grace and their testimony!! I am so glad Holland fell in love with this gorgeous greenhouse and think that their elopement ended up fitting their wedding day vision better than the larger fall wedding they were planning! 🙂
