Our last big wedding of 2020 is finally here y’all! We have been looking forward to this day for as long as Joe & Bobie, which is over 2 years!!! I still can’t believe their engagement session was in 2018! It seems like ages ago… but it also feels like I have lived a lifetime in 2020.

I can see why it took two years to piece together every detail at this wedding because it was by far the most regal and luxurious to photograph and be a part of!! I was a vendor and I still felt so luxuriously spoiled by Bobie and her mom, Michelle (Owner of Purple Door Catering). So this blog post is full of their hard work and details!

Bobie and Joe also threw one the coolest receptions we’ve been to in our career!! They had a hype man MC’ing the dance floor keeping the energy and dancing going for 4 hours of open dance floor!! Yes you read that right!! I have to admit I doubted that any group of guests could keep the dance floor going that long but this crowd really impressed me!! On top of the dancing, the dinner was just out of this world! 4 courses of pure elegance on a plate left everyone full and excited to drink and dance the night away! I am a little sad that I was busy the entire evening and never got a chance to try the dessert table (which if you know me is like unheard of!!) but I heard it was divine!

This was our first time photographing a wedding at this beautiful property and we so enjoyed following Joe & Bobie around during bride and groom portraits. I know Joe was NOT fan of having his picture taken and didn’t want a first look but he told me later that day that he was SO GLAD they decided to share a first look!

So many grooms don’t like taking photos and don’t want a first look -I still don’t understand why?? But once Bobie and I explained that he would get several breaks from being in front of the camera he was down for it!! And guys. I’m so glad they did!! The sweet tears and love shared between these two during their first look still make me cry when I see the photos! Joe was a mess when he saw his stunning bride Bobie!! And he did so well during portraits even though our engagement session with them was about 2 years ago! To say I was impressed that he remembered the poses and nailed each shot would be an understatement!

I am beyond excited to share this special wedding day at the beautiful Seclusion in Lexington, Virginia and can’t wait till you see my favorite photos!! Enjoy friends!

Venue: This venue is most definitely one of my top 5 favorite venues in all of Virginia! As a natural light wedding photographer I am always looking for natural light in bridal suites, plenty of portrait locations with ideal light, and a spot for wide and epic backdrops. The Seclusion has all my wedding photography wish list and MORE!

I met the owner Trish at this weekend’s wedding and she was the sweetest host. Seeing how proud she was over her gorgeous venue just shows how much hard work and love went into making that venue come to life! It truly offered a luxurious experience for my couple and their guests and their photos are some of my favorite photos I’ve taken to date! I can’t recommend this venue enough and can’t wait to be back for my couples getting married here in 2021!!

Ceremony Coordinator: This was my first wedding working with Sandra & Mimi with RS Exclusive and I have to say they are top notch! The entire day I felt as ease knowing that all I had to do was focus on the wedding photography. I am used to filling in the role as coordinator so when these two ladies were taking the lead with the timeline checks and ceremony set up I was so grateful.

Sandra checked on my couple and my husband (& second shooter) throughout the day making sure we stayed hydrated and on time. I can’t recommend RS Exclusive enough and can’t wait to work with these two again!

Reception Coordinator & Planner: Where do I even begin to brag about Alicia & her team?! She was on top of everything the entire day!! I feel like they were in so many places at once because every time I needed one of them they were magically there! As a photographer, it is always so helpful to have a planner & coordinator present on the wedding day and to work with someone who is as skilled as they are fun is just beyond a pleasure!

Alicia was there before we arrived and stayed after we left (and we had 13 hours of photo coverage) and not once did I see her without a smile. She is truly a pleasure to work with and I can’t recommend her enough!! Alicia I can’t wait to do the wobble next to you again soon! 🙂

Videography: I was beyond excited to work with Dele & Rebekah Rockson again at this past weekends wedding! His attention to detail, calming presence, and fun personality are really what made it so fun to work with him! I can’t recommend Dele enough if you are looking for a wedding videographer and even though they live FL now, they are so worth they hype to get them to your venue in her VA! Dele, it was a pleasure friend! Can’t wait to relive this day through your video!

Catering: Luxurious. Exquisite. Extraordinary. Devine. This is how I experienced this past weekend at The Seclusion for Joe & Bobie’s wedding. I have never been served like this before at a wedding and I truly hope to experience it again from Purple Door Gourmet Catering!

The four course dinner and incredible dessert display were out of this world amazing and I wasn’t even in the bridal party!! We had a field day taking beautiful detail photos of the reception place settings and can’t wait to see these beautiful images in a magazine soon!!

Floral & Serving: I was so excited to work with Love is in the Air at this past weekend’s wedding!! As a vendor you see all the work that went into making wedding days beautiful and this team is by far some of the hardest workers I’ve worked with!!

Their team during cocktail hour and the reception kept all the guests entertained while we took the bride and groom out for photos. They even served the guests in a way that was so unique and the coolest thing!! The wall of drinks made it seem so fun and it was a huge hit with the guests!
