Flow-y, Romantic, Girly, Princess-y, Beautiful Dresses

This session is a special occasion celebrating this amazing life ahead with each other so wearing something that is a little more fancy & out of the ordinary for one outfit gives your photos a unique high end look! If you’re really looking for a soft, romantic, feminine look, I recommend wearing a light colored flow-y skirt or dress.

Some brides want to really go big or go home and wear something only a Disney princess would wear!! For some brides, a more simple elegant or classic dress is a better fit for their personality. Whichever way you choose, I want you to feel beautiful in your dress!! The reason I suggest wearing a dress is the more flow-y the fabric the more movement and flattering it will be on every body type!!

I know it’s always nerve racking to order a dress online but according to my past brides, these companies offer a great experience for their customers if you need to return anything or need a different size. So if you are looking for a beautiful flow-y engagement session dress check out these sites!

Tips for Dressing Confident:

We recommend that you wear something that flatters the parts of you that you love the most. This allows you to be extremely confident!! Unfortunately some clothes are not the most flattering on every woman. (Side note: why is that?!)

If you are uncomfortable when you look in the mirror (having to suck in and only like the way you look from one angle), then that probably isn’t the best outfit choice for you.

We want you to be really confident in your outfit, because we know that you will love your portraits so much more if you’re not worrying about how your clothes fit!

Some BONUS Clothing Tips

(according to past brides)

Things to Avoid:

  • Tank Top as only top

  • Really short dresses or skirts (for the sitting shots)

  • Clothing that clings to you or is tighter

  • Colors that wash out your skin (some pink & orange colors)

  • Shoes that hurt your feet!-bring an extra pair of shoes to walk in and change into your cute heels

  • Neon colored clothes

What Looks Great:

  • LAYERS! Wear some layers- even in the warmer months

  • A flow-y chiffon (pictured above) or lace dress that flatters you!- if you don’t want to show your legs, consider a maxi dress

  • Cute heels or pumps with your fancier outfit

  • Bright or pastel colors paired with neutral tones for the groom

  • A nice leather or neutral colored coat for the cold months

  • Wearing other jewelry in addition to your engagement ring
