If you have been following along my business this year you will notice a common thing amongst many of the weddings I’ve posted. Rain. Yes almost every wedding we’ve photographed has seen some rain on the wedding day in some way. How is this statically possible? I have no clue. So its only fitting that the last wedding of our 2022 season be a hurricane rainy wedding. But ya know, the rain this year while it has been somewhat defeating for my creative side, I wouldn’t trade any day, memory, family, etc.
We have worked with incredible families this year, including these two families!! Nathan, Madi, and their families really put on a great event to end our wedding season! It made me so happy to hear that James and I are known as the rain photographers at The Seclusion, because what an honor it is be considered the go to photographer for when things don’t go according to plan!!! I don’t take that title lightly either! But man will I really be grateful for our next sunny wedding haha
One secret that I tell my couples with rainy days is that the colors pop so much more in photos! The light was pretty even for photos as well making their gallery so colorful and vibrant! And it was a total bonus to see that they rented a clear tent to cover the ceremony space!! That beautiful tent and stunning florals from Fleuressence Floral Design really transformed the ceremony to make it feel truly magical!
One of my favorite ceremony moments was their unique “unity ceremony”. Instead of tying a knot or pouring sand, these two changed their names in their phones!! And apparently we snapped a photo right when someone was texting Nathan haha!! So if that was you that sent the text, you’ll forever be a part of their ceremony!!
The details at this chic fall wedding at The Seclusion were seriously a photographers dream!! It’s always so special for me to hear the history behind different bridal details, decor pieces, wedding rings, wtc. And Madi had so many beautiful family heirlooms to photograph. Her grandma’s rings were one of my favorite things to photograph! Those rings are almost 100 years old and it was the first time they were ever photographed!
Madi was actually named after her grandmother and to honor her grandmother she even included the flower that shares her name! Knowing these little details may not sound like much for a photographer to know but I made sure to take special photos of the items because I know how important it is to Madi & her mama!
I absolutely loved hanging out with these two and their closest friends!! They really know how to have fun and keep the party going!! They even surprised their guests with fresh stone fired pizza from Blue Ridge Pizza. And even though it was raining, the Blue Ridge Pizza team let us take a few bonus portraits at their truck and Nathan and Madi even made a pizza together!! They may have “missed out” on the sparkler photos but these unique and fun pizza photos definitely made up for those photos!!
