Virginia Tech Engagement Session | Blacksburg Wedding Photographer
Another session at Virginia Tech is on the blog!! I always love photographing this beautiful campus and having an excuse to explore the grounds. It was a little colder than I hoped it would be even in the sun. Fortunately, even though it felt like winter we found leaves on the trees that made these photos look like fall!! I am so glad Nathan and Elena knew exactly where to go on campus for the best spots and helped us find a new spot!!
The last time we were at the Virginia Tech Duck Pond James was almost attacked by an angry goose! That didn’t happen this time, instead a little duck refused to get out of our shots! So I made sure to get a shot of our little friend. These two caught on to posing so quickly! I am so glad they did because our last shot of the day was seriously the hardest shot to get!
So at the Virginia Tech War Memorial Chapel there were SEVERAL groups of people taking graduation photos, touring the campus, and just hanging out. In order to get the shot I had to stand across a business intersection and yell and act out posing instructions to Nathan and Elena. As I was across the way looking like a fool, I quickly realized that I needed all these people to move to give them the shot they wanted there. James so kindly asked everyone to move out of the photo and ya’ll it was a miracle because literally everyone moved!! If Nathan and Elena hadn’t been posing pro’s these photos would not have happened. We did a few poses in this one spot and we did it all in a matter of a minute.
On top of trying to get the shot quickly while people were still gone I had to make sure no cars were in the shot. This is probably the busiest intersection around campus so this was HARD ya’ll! I am telling you all of this because I am SO PROUD of the images we got from this spot! Nathan and Elena were incredible and to be honest I wish we had way more time with them at this shoot because the light was just started to have that glow when we were finishing up. We had to start our session a littler earlier so that they could be a dinner for their youth group otherwise I could have kept them there another 30 minutes!! I know their youth group kids love them so I didn’t want to make them late for dinner.
I just love these two and their hearts to serve their kids! I have loved following their story on instagram and am amazed by Elena’s musical talents!! I am looking forward to their wedding coming this summer in May!!
Check out a few of my favorites from this Virginia Tech Campus Engagement Session!
Until next time,
