I have actually known Allison since we were really little- was it elementary?! But with her being in the younger class we never had the chance to hang out and honestly I’m so sad because since we’ve reconnected all these years later, I just adore her!!! In fact, I still remember when she inquired for their day over a year ago… I was NERVOUS!! Nervous because I so badly wanted to work with her & Dakota but I wasn’t sure if I was cool enough! Haha!!

But ya know, as lame as I feel some days, this lady has ALWAYS been so supportive, encouraging, and a super fan!! Her excitement to work with us and support us is such a big reason I stepped out of my comfort zone on Instagram and make reels! I just adore her and I don’t where EHP would be today without Dakota & Allison!!!

Their wedding day, while it was colder than we all anticipated, was so much fun!! Her laid back bridal party, well behaved pup, and fun dance floor really made the cooler temps bearable. Which is saying something because it was below 50 degrees once the dance floor opened up! Because of this wedding I have so many more tips to share about cold weddings and adding pups to your ceremony!! Allison thought of things I hadn’t even thought of in all my years shooting weddings!! So I’ll be sharing those soon on Instagram reels!!

Their pup, Chloe, also made it in their blog post a few times! I couldn’t help but add some of her because after all, the day was about her?! Well she’d like us to think that anyway! Throughout the day she would hang out with us and the wedding party to sneak in some photos and lay on her favorite blanket, Allison’s wedding dress. While that was the only wedding attire that got “dirty”, Chloe’s dog hairs weren’t the worst thing to clean up (if you know, you know)!

But Chloe’s first look with Allison was just as precious as the one Dakota & Allison shared!! Dakota didn’t cry the first time, but he definitely did at the ceremony!!! I don’t know what it is about first looks this year, but I think it has softened some of our EH Grooms emotions for the ceremony!! His reaction is PRICELESS!! And speaking of priceless. I had a moment of realizing “I’m living into what younger me has dreamed of & prayed for”. We had 4… that’s right, FOUR #emilyhancockcouples at this wedding!! So of course we had to get a group shot with the EHP family!!

Of all the beautiful photos we’ve taken this year, this one is most definitely in my top 5 favorites because it’s exactly what I love about this business. Our couples are not just clients. They are our friends, our support & encouragement, and so much more! Serving couples like Dakota & Allison, Taylor & Beth, Chris & Anna, and Denton & Mackenzie is what James and I feel called to do. And seeing God’s faithfulness to our commitment in this photo is just very humbling (don’t mind me crying happy tears as I write this).
