Rustic Southern Wedding on the Farm | Virginia Wedding Photographer
I will forever remember this wedding day as the wedding the hurricanes were supposed to ruin. This year has been truly crazy and to have my couples have to take on the stress of weather on top of everything just makes my heart hurt. I want my couples to have beautiful portraits on their wedding day no matter what but rain does make things complicated. So you probably imagine how EXCITED we all were the morning of the wedding when the weather forecast showed a less than 10% chance of rain!!
I am still so thankful for the best weather even though it was it a HOT one! Their family farm is so beautiful to explore and I loved incorporating what they love to do as a living in their portraits. This classic southern farm wedding had the most unique backdrop at the ceremony too. The grain bins are a common theme throughout the day for their portraits as well as their large tobacco field!!
I was a little familiar with the property because this was my 3rd time to the farm!! Last year was my first time to the farm for Danielle & Kevin’s engagement session! So when Daron inquired with me I was so excited to see a past EH couple again! Reunions at weddings are one of my favorite things! And Danielle went above and beyond on Daron’s wedding day too! I love my detail oriented brides so when I found out Danielle had a surprise up her sleeves for Daron & Davey’s wedding I was so excited!! Danielle converted an old horse trailer into a mobile BAR!! You guys that was the coolest reception bar I have seen in awhile! So if you are in need of a mobile bar trailer for your reception, keep an eye out for this one!!
I also loved the antique decor pieces & the old church pews they had for their ceremony. A local church donated them and I loved how they added a sweet touch to their ceremony. The other antique surprise at their ceremony was Daron arriving in style by a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air! The look on her face as her mama helped her out of the car was priceless (check it out below)!!
It is so important to James and I that our couples are EXCITED to be married! Yes we love the all the pretty details with bouquets, centerpieces, reception decor, antique cars, etc. but that’s not what the day is about. Seeing our couples in love and so happy on their wedding day is what fuels our fire for this business. The way Davey smiled at Daron during their portraits and the way Daron lit up as she walked down the isle was such a sweet reflection of their love story!
