I am so excited to share this beautiful elegant barn wedding at Valley Mills Farm! Oakley and Anna are one of the cutest couples we’ve gotten to know this year! They’ve known each other since they were so young- in kindergarten! They are in the HS Sweethearts club (like James & I)! Anna and Oakley wanted a more relaxed, fun, and rustic feel for their wedding and all their details and flowers gave such beautiful life to their vision! Hearing all the that they had planned on our last planning call made me so excited for their day!!
I love a good floral arch and she shared the legacy behind some of her bridal details which made these photos extra special for me to get! She so neatly had all her bridal details in a box waiting for me (which made my heart so happy!) and it was full of these delicate details. She shared that her garter was the same one her mama wore on her wedding and that it was actually made from her grandmother’s wedding dress! And the antique bottle of perfume was also her grandmother’s and the handkerchief was her aunt’s. Pairing these details with new jewelry is such a fun way to bring in your family’s legacy in your wedding day!
I love that wanted to share a few different first looks at their wedding too. Anna shared a sweet moment with her daddy & mama on the front porch of bridal suite house and her daddy’s reaction was the sweetest! Then we all made our way down to the side of the creek to find Oakley waiting to see his bride! He made sure to save his tears for the ceremony because he had another surprise in mind for Anna. He surprised her with new diamond earrings (look out for them below)!
Something new that we had never photographed before was a special Ceremony Exit with… BUBBLES! I could tell even the guests had a fun time blowing bubbles for the couple as they walked back down the aisle as husband & wife! Anna didn’t want to do the typical exit at the end of the night, she waned something different. So with some insider secrets I’ve learned from past weddings, she made this amazing bubble exit happen!! It’s now one of my favorite recessional photos of all time!!!
And Oakley had another surprise for me! Him and his brothers blew me away on the dance floor! I thought Oakley was so quiet and reserved but all he needs is a little music on an open dance floor and he comes alive! I was so surprised by the energy this bridal party brought to the reception which made it a night I won’t soon forget!
