Fall Ivory & Gold Wedding at a Winery | Roanoke Wedding Photographer

I will forever remember this beautiful wedding day at Virginia Mountain Vineyards and it’s probably not for the reason you’d imagine! I thought I had seen it all when it comes to working a wedding but Beth & Taylor had things planned that left me completely speechless and I was in tears by the end of the night.

But before we get to that I have to share that there were so many obstacles that Taylor & Beth had to navigate in order to tie the knot! They had probably the most crazy and bipolar weather forecast that changed by the hour, gusts of spine chilling wind, and they also had to navigate a sleepy yet handsome little man: Jack Jack- aka their baby boy, gosh is just the cutest!

Not many of our couples have all these obstacles to tackle on the wedding day but when I say that Beth & Taylor handled it with grace and determination I’m not kidding!! Even when the rain randomly decided to show up RIGHT BEFORE THE CEREMONY BEGAN, these two were so strong and just excited to get married-rain or shine. And I can’t ask for anything else then that!!!

Their first look moment didn’t have tears but the look on Taylor’s face when he finally got to see his bride is priceless!! In fact, his thumbs up photo will forever be one of my favorite first look photos!!! They exchanged their personal vows with one another during their first look so that they could really enjoy the moment together instead of focusing on all the eyes on them. Which I can’t blame them, because that’s exactly why James wanted to do a first look at our wedding years ago!!

But we enjoyed exploring this local Virginia Winery for their portraits and loved the beautiful fall foliage as a backdrop! The shots at the mountains with the fall colored tree line are my favorites!!! And speaking of favorites, let’s go back to the start of this post with the thing that left me speechless on the dance floor.

To give back story, James and I decided (like crazy people) to sell our house in the midst of our BUSIEST FALL WEDDING SEASON EVER. Like what were we thinking?? As I type this, my house is still a mess with boxes everywhere. But even though I had all that going on, my couples are still the most important thing to me! I really do love each and every one of my girls (& their hubbies :). I couldn’t be where I am today without them! And as we said our goodbyes that night, Beth told me she had something for me. It was a welcome home gift for our new house! And guys when I say that I was speechless…. I was trying not to cry the whole time she was telling me about the gift, how she pieced it together, and why she wanted to give this to me. It means the world to me that in the midst of all the wedding planning, she thought of me… moving house. I was just so stunned and felt so loved!

Beth (& Taylor), thank you so much again for your thoughtful gift!!! I forever remember this moment with you and am so grateful to call you friend. I’m using the blanket to keep warm on this cold rainy day and just reliving this moment with you!
