Rainy Summer Wedding at Atkinson Farms |
Danville Wedding Photographer
We are kicking off our fall wedding season with Kaden and Lisa’s Atkinson Farms Rainy Wedding! And like so many other weddings we have photographed this year, these two had to adjust their original plans to the rain plan.
I know rain is not ideal for a wedding but it is really crucial to have a venue that accommodates a rain plan and offers covered backdrops for photos. Not every venue is created equal… but Atkinson Farms had so many beautiful covered areas to allow for beautiful natural light portraits!
Lisa was so sweet and trusting to follow my crazy idea of her getting her dressed buttoned on the back porch of the bridal suite lodge at Atkinson Farms. I know it sounds strange to encourage the bride to get ready on a porch, but the lighting was so much better on the back covered porch than it was inside! Because the dark rain clouds were taking so much of the light away! Just wait till you see those getting ready photos and you’ll understand why I made that request!
I also learned something new at this wedding! A new recommendation I will be making to all my future couples who are facing the tough decision to move the ceremony location indoors. Lisa decided to add a special touch to their recessional to give her photos something extra since they couldn’t use the original location for the ceremony… Dried flower petals!!! I absolutely loved this idea!
Thankfully there were enough of the petals left over to have some fun with the bridal party photos too. While this may have been an Atkinson Farms Rainy Wedding, that didn’t stop everyone from having some fun!! These photos are some of my favorite from this day! So if you are planning your wedding now, take some notes from Kaden & Lisa’s Atkinson Farms Rainy Wedding and invest in some dried flower petals for your ceremony!
We had a great time working with their video team as well! It’s so nice working with other wedding professionals who are respectful and do a great job for their couple- especially with the weather. It’s so easy for everyone involved to get down about the weather, dark clouds, and how the plan had to change. Which makes me so grateful to work along side cheerful and fun vendors as well as a laid back and fun bridal party!!! Lisa & Kaden, I know your wedding day looked a little different than you imagined but it was a beautiful day with so many fun and happy memories!!
Please enjoy reliving this Atkinson Farms Rainy Wedding and don’t miss out on some never before seen bridal portraits with Lisa!! I have sprinkled a few of my favorites from that bridal portrait session in the post, so enjoy!
