Winter Roanoke Engagement Session | Roanoke Wedding Photographer
Today on the blog I am sharing a winter engagement session in downtown Roanoke, Virginia. You may recognize these two because they had a session with James and I a little over a year ago!! Abby is the only girl on my dad’s side of the family. So we would have to hold the fort down and keep an eye on our wild brothers and cousins. But I am so excited for these two getting married this June at Triple J Farms!! It’s going to be beautiful and such a fun wedding day. 🙂 Even though we’d already done an engagement session with these two Abby had outfits planned that were too perfect to pass up another shoot!!
We started out at Elmwood Park and even though the trees were bare, Abby’s pop of black made them stand out!! We then made our way to my favorite “Roanoke Rainbow Row” Townhouses! These pastel and neutral colors are so much fun to use as a backdrop. I actually shared a funny moment that happened at this location on Instagram. I was in the middle of showing Abby & Noah how to do a specific pose when I looked up and saw two beedy little eyes staring at me!! We’ll it was a face on the balloon actually. Someone had strategically placed a balloon of Baby Yoda (aka Grogu for my fellow star wars fans) right above a window and I as soon as I saw it, I LOST IT!! We all had a good laugh but it definitely caught me off guard and I lost all train of thought haha
Abby’s 70’s inspired outfit was the cutest thing! She thought of all the details, complete with denim jacket with her new last name and, ironically enough, her BELL bottom jeans! We had so much fun posing with this fun outfit!! So if you are planning your engagement session outfits, don’t forget to bring something that shows off your personality and have fun with it! I always encourage a fancier outfit to give your photos a classic high end look and then bring a more relaxed, true to your personality look! Abby took this idea and ran with it!! 🙂
