Fall Virginia Tech Engagement Session | Virginia Tech Wedding Photographer
I knew from the moment we hopped on a Zoom call with these two that we would be great friends!! Kala and Adam are so down to earth, fun, and everything we look for in an EHP couple! They are big Tech fans like us so we always consider it a bonus to work with fellow Hokies!
We always ask our couples inquiring what their 5 favorite things are, how they met, their proposal story, etc. to get to know our potential couples. I love it when brides tell me all about it (without forgetting the details)!! I remember their story of how they met because James and I had a similar story!!! James and I have been friends since 6th grade but he didn’t like my bossy, type-A, overachieving self in the early days… It wasn’t until high school that I captured his attention.
These two met while working at their local ice cream shop (Bruster’s) in Williamsburg, VA while they were in high school!!! Kala told me that Adam wasn’t her biggest fan since we have similar personalities and she may or may not have gotten more tips at Brusters 😉 haha!! But that competition couldn’t stop this love story!! They wanted to head back to their old stomping grounds at Tech for their engagement session which made me SO HAPPY!!
James and I have been to Tech’s campus every fall for football games for 8+ years (well 15+ years for me technically) as well as other engagement sessions, so we know campus is beautiful especially during the fall season. However, or the first time ever, we were able to get the perfect shot at the Pylons!!! Kala and Adam are the luckiest couple ever because they had the Pylons to themselves for about 1-2 minutes!! Which if you’ve been to Tech’s campus you know just how hard that is to get for even 10 seconds!!
We had a field day and I was so excited for them to get those shots. Campus during the pandemic does look a bit different though. Masks are required everywhere but thankfully we weren’t fussed at to grab these photos! 🙂 We respect the laws of course but I am thankful our couples are willing to risk taking off masks for photos. We do capture the masks shots if our couples want them to document the times, but for us, we want to capture their personalities and love story! That’s much harder to do wearing a mask… So enjoy a few of our favorites from Kala & Adam’s fall engagement session at Virginia Tech.
