Joe & Caroline’s Liberty Basketball Engagement Session | Lynchburg Wedding Photographer
An engagement session on Liberty University’s campus and the college basketball court is a unique and memorable experience for any couple, especially if one of them happens to be a coach for the men’s basketball team! The shoot started off with Joe and Caroline meeting us just outside Liberty’s Tower. We prefer natural light for our style of photography and knew we would have special permission to use the court of Liberty University’s basketball court for the rest of the shoot.
We taught them basic posing outside so that way, when we made our way inside, we would be able to fly through poses with these two. And boy did we have so much inspiration to go off of!! Joe came up with poses of his own which made Caroline laugh, of course.
Joe gave us a tour of his domain and we had the best time getting creative with photos in the stands, the bench, the court itself, etc. James had some absolutely amazing ideas and you’ll see his favorite in this post- a wide vertical photo of them on the court and the score board!
After taking photos on the court, we made our way to the newly renovated locker room of the men’s basketball team. Joe was telling us all about the design of it all, how he helped make different selections, and the coolest features available for the players to prep for each game! As a former HS basketball player myself, I was fan-girling a bit the entire session!!
Overall, an engagement session at Liberty University’s campus and the college basketball court was a unique experience and we had the best time! We always encourage our couples to think outside the box for engagement photos because on the wedding day we are “stuck” in one place. But an engagement session we can bring in other parts of your story with a unique location!
We will for sure be using this session as a prime example of this and maybe one day we’ll be able to come back?! For now I’ll enjoy reliving a few of my favorite moments of this Liberty University engagement session!
