Virginia Tech Hahn Horticulture Gardens Wedding | Blacksburg, Virginia Wedding Photographer
I will remember this wedding forever for so many reasons. There are so many wow moments and amazing memories made at our first Virginia Tech Hahn Horticulture Garden Wedding!! This sweet couple had so many helping hands pulling together all the details to make this wedding perfect. We started out the Main Street Inn where the ladies started the day with hair and makeup prep!
We grabbed some cute shots of the ladies opening their hand picked gifts from the bride, grabbed her wedding details, and headed to Hahn Horticulture Gardens. When we arrived to the gardens we expected florals but seriously this entire venue offered so many beautiful spots for portraits. Mariana, my assistant and marketing manager, and I explored the gardens and found the coolest spot for her wedding dress photo!! I had too much fun with these bridal details. Michaela had a stunning ring box, a beautiful invitation suite, wax seal, stunning Finks rings, and a hand made ring box (made by the bride!!!).
The groom and groomsmen got ready on Virginia Tech’s campus in Pamplin Hall. I know I had the beautiful gardens for my detail shots but I am jealous James got to use the beautiful Hokie stone in Zach’s detail photos!! The guys got to open sweet gifts from Micheala in between portraits and she gave Zach a very special watch (with a cute note). When the guys joined us ladies at the venue I had Michaela outside doing some beautiful bridal portraits and Zach almost saw her. Oops!
Fortunately James got to him in time to keep him hidden so we could finish up our twirling bridal portraits! I can’t wait to show you those photos!! Michaela just exudes happiness and those portraits make me smile every time I see them!! There are actually so many favorites from this wedding like her family baking not only her wedding cake but her wedding cookies!! Ya’ll I begged her sister and mama to start a wedding dessert business because I would love to recommend them to all my brides! I am still obsessing over those cookies and cake and can’t wait to work with Hilltop Cookie Shop in the future!!! 🙂
If you are looking for mother & son dance inspiration this momma and groom have got some moves!! You can tell they have put in the work to make their dance perfect and it really was! My dad and I had a choreographed dance but not like this one! Now the bride and her daddy were another story. Everyone was in tears by how sweet these two interacted! I am a softy when it comes to crying. If I see the bridal party, parents, or my couple in tears you can pretty much guess I will be crying too. Those dances will definitely be in my top 5 favorites of all time!!
Zach and Michaela were so chill the entire day and were even willing to have more portrait time at sunset (THE GOLDEN HOUR GLOW!!!!) and at the very end of the night for the late night romantic portraits! I mean they are a dream couple!! We had too much fun stealing them away for sunset portraits and I am SO glad we did they were some of my FAVORITE images of the day! Hahn Horticulture Gardens was such a beautiful venue even at night! Zach and Michaela mentioned the string lights in the garden during our regular portrait time.
So after their sparkler exit we asked if they wanted just a few minutes worth of extra portraits. We made our way through the gardens and with a little help from James finding out how to turn on the lights we captured some super romantic bonus portraits of these two!! It was a beautiful way to complete their wedding day and I am so happy James and I were a part of it!!
