A Romantic and Rustic Wedding at Barn at Edgewood | Charlottesville Wedding Photographer

Remember these two from their engagement session in Charleston, South Carolina?! Well James and I made our way up to Charlottesville for their beautiful wedding day at Barn at Edgewood. This was our first time working at this wedding venue and I can already tell you that I can’t wait to work here again!! The owners are so welcoming and the epitome of southern hospitality. Their modern barn is perfect to keep your guests cooled from the summer heat and make everyone feel included by having your reception all in one area.

When I first arrived to the bridal suite to see Jordan and meet her besties, I was greeted with a hug and something that has NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE EVER!!!! Jordan gave ME, her wedding photographer, a gift. *cue the tears* When I say that I was completely shocked and my day was made I truly mean that! I love every one of my couples so much and it’s such a special thing for me to see them tie the knot weekend after weekend. So when moments like this happen it just reassures me that my hard work behind the scenes is worth while! My couple do love us and I’m so grateful that they trust us to capture all the sweet moments on one of the biggest days of their lives!!

And speaking of sweet moments… Connor brought another surprise to the wedding day! He wrote a letter to his bride that had her in tears and while he didn’t cry at his first look, he DID during the ceremony!! His family even made the comment that they had never seen him get that emotional before. And James even got proof on camera that he was crying during the vows (look for those tears below!!).

During their ceremony, their first date story was shared and it really does represent what a kind and sweet man Connor is for Jordan. They were walking back from a party and the walk was longer than expected. Jordan’s feet were hurting her and Connor took off his shoes and gave them to her to walk in until they got back. Which was still a long ways off. Jordan said that was the moment she knew he was the one. And even as I type this, I have chills! What a sweet story to have to tell your kiddos?!

This wedding also had some of the most EPIC dancing. Jordan was a UVA Cheerleader in college so she and her dad really brought it when it was their time to shine! You don’t wanna miss those photos below of the father daughter(s) dance!
