It’s finally here!! Our first wedding of 2023!!! And boy did it start with an absolute BANGER!!! This wasn’t your average elegant garden wedding at Cedar Oaks Farm. Allison and Brayden had so many surprises in store to really create a gallery of images that speaks to their personalities, their story together, and their (growing) family! Did you catch that hint?!
This was our first wedding at Cedar Oaks Farm in Bedford, Virginia and I have to say this is easily my new favorite venue in town! It was actually really nice to photograph a wedding so close to home (sadly it’s rare for us to stay home). This newer mountain view wedding has stunning views everywhere you look and Allison & Brayden had so many photo opportunities for us planned out!
When I found out that all their vendors you better believe I was so excited to work with truly the best people in our local wedding community of vendors! Allison is actually among those, being the owner of the BEST Hair & Makeup business in town!! I was in shock when they first inquired with us!! She works with photographers almost every weekend, many talented friends of mine, and THEY CHOSE US! I’m still so honored to have been a part of their story like we have!
Between the amazing vendor team, the beautiful weather at this venue, their fun bridal party, and unique bridal details, I was in photographer heaven! I LOVE it when brides incorporate their personalities in subtle ways and for the first time ever you can actually play the game “Find Georgia” with her bridal details! It’s similar to “Where’s Waldo” only you have to be on the hunt for the sweetest boxer pup you’ll ever meet, Miss Georgia! I was maybe a little too obsessed with adding her in the detail photos haha!
As one last surprise for their guests and family, they decided to announce they are expecting their first baby with a special cake cutting!! It was a gender reveal cake!!! Everyone in the room was so overcome with so much joy and excitement!!! It still gives me chills thinking back to it! But they slowly cut the cake to reveal either blue or pink icing… You’ll have to find those photos down below to see which color they found!!
After all these surprises and perfect weather I have to say this was the best way to start a wedding season. Jumping back in the game mentally can be a challenge sometimes but when I get to work with couples like these Allison & Brayden, it has been a breath of fresh air! Truly so sad this experience with them has come to an end… But I already told her that we are keeping them as friends for life, they’re stuck with us!! And of course, I’ll see her again at other weddings this year (because she really is the best hair & makeup artist around!!).
