Caleb & Savannah’s Rustic Spring Garden Wedding at Running Mare Farm | Richmond Wedding Photographer
There are some couples that we work with each year who we connect with on a deeper friendship level than others. This year was the first year that almost every couple fits that description but Caleb and Savannah are at the top of that list! I always look forward to our conversations full of weens, I mean memes, and gifs- especially from The Office. Any chance I could help Savannah and her mama, I did because they are just genuinely good people!! Case in point, I show up to the wedding this past weekend and they have a gift wrapped up FOR ME!!!
As if her beautiful garden themed wedding details weren’t enough of gift to me, they got me a vintage wildflower puzzle!! If you know me, you know I’m an old soul!! Nothing brings me peace more than sipping on a cuppa while putting together a puzzle (especially one of wildflowers!). Savannah’s theme of rustic spring garden gave me LIFE!! And she had so many family heirlooms tied into every part of her wedding decor from her great, great grandfather’s cufflinks (turned into a ring and necklace), her dad’s family tea sets as their reception table decor, her grandmother’s ring she wore to complete her bridal look, etc.
Even with all the planning that took place before hand, the weather of course does whatever it wants! Sadly they had to set up their day with the rain plan in mind!! Fortunately, they decided to share a first look so they could get the majority of their photos done before the rain even started!! And boy did we push them and their bridal party to get as many portraits done as we could.
Caleb had the sweetest first look reaction to Savannah!! He loved her dress and one of my favorite moments was her showing Caleb her secret pockets!! I LOVE when a wedding dress has pockets!! Her dress also had a sassy flair with a slit in the front! You better believe we showed off this feature every chance we could!!
We finished so many of their portraits before the rain started but when it came time for the rain, it didn’t hold back!! We were able to sneak back out in the light rain for their “sunset portraits” and fit in some cute umbrella photos before snapping my personal favorite portraits of the day!! I love the more advanced “lift” pose but Savannah’s dress took it to a whole new level!! If you look for those photos in the bottom of the post you’ll seen what I ween! (IYKYK)
I am so sad my time with Caleb and Savannah has come to an end but I’m already counting down the days till our “eternity photoshoot” in the years to come- no rush guys!! (IYKYK) Please enjoy reliving this beautiful rustic spring garden wedding at Running Mare Farm in Richmond, Virginia!
